Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to Omni Hotel (and Return)

 

Taxi   A large number of Metro Atlanta taxi companies serve Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Depending on traffic, the trip usually takes 12-20 minutes. Flat Rate Zone from Hartsfield To Downtown Central Business District for One Person: $ 30.00. An additional $2.00 charge for each person beyond the fourth. Taxicab service is located in the Red Bus aisle.

Rates to areas outside the Central Business District are computed by a meter.

  • $ 0.25 cents for ea. additional 1/8 mile
  • $ 21.00/hr Wait time

Airport Shuttle   Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport offers shuttle service to hotels in the downtown Atlanta area through The Atlanta Link. Shuttles depart the airport and the Hotel every 30 minutes. The trip usually takes 45 minutes as the shuttle will stop at other hotels along the way. As of July 2007, rates are as follows:

  • One Way $16.50
  • Round Trip $29

Atlanta Link ticketing counter located in the Arrivals Lobby of Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Their loading area located outside of Delta Baggage Claim South Terminal in the middle island. For more information, visit their Web site at http://www.theatlantalink.com.

Rental Car   At present, eight car rental companies serve Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and including such national chains as Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and National/Alamo. Parking at the Omni Hotel will cost $15 per night in a secured parking facility (via their Valet Service). Parking may also be found for $5 per night at the CNN facility or Centennial Park Garage adjacent to the hotel, however those facilities are not secured and require considerable walking distance for some to hotel lobby.

Mass Transit   The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) covers the metro Atlanta area (Fulton and Dekalb counties) with scheduled service to and from the airport. The MARTA entrance is located at the west entrance of the Airport terminal complex, near other ground transportation services. MARTA trains arrive and depart from the airport every eight minutes. In 15 minutes, a passenger can travel the 10 miles to downtown Atlanta, where connections are available to other parts of the city. Cost is $1.75. W1 Georgia Dome/CNN Center MARTA Rail station is adjacent and below the Omni Hotel (a five-minute walk). For more information, visit their Web site at http://www.itsmarta.com. Please note: MARTA rail/bus transportation is not recommended to get to either IGBO 2008 bowling center.

Other Other ground transportation can be secured by participants based on their desire and need. Included in the category are limousines and sedans. Cost varies and will depend on the level of service secured by the participant.

 


 

Omni Hotel to Bowling Centers

 

The Omni Hotel is located 5.5 miles (11 miles round trip) from Midtown Bowl in Atlanta (Team event site) and 22.1 miles from the Brunswick Zone facility in Norcross, GA (Singles/Doubles events site).

A shuttle service between the Omni Hotel at CNN Center and the two bowling centers will be provided for the convenience of participants. The cost is a flat rate of $25 (U.S.) per bowler for all events scheduled in Friday and Saturday, May 23-24, 2008. Spaces on our shuttle transportation are limited and must be RESERVED and PAID IN ADVANCE via your online or printed entry forms. All paid transportation fees collected in advance will receive shift priority. If spaces are left on our buses, they will be sold at the tournament (hotel) registration desk on a first come;first server basis. Once a shuttle bus(s) fills to capacity, no further transportation reservations will be accepted at the registration desk.

Important note: IGBO Hotel to Bowling Center shuttle transportation will NOT be provided for Singles/Doubles or Team events on Thursday, May 22, 2008 and will NOT be provided for Team and Scratch Masters events on Sunday, May 25, 2008. If you choose to participate in these events, please make your own transportation plans accordingly.

 


 

Omni Hotel to IGBO Social Activities

 

Transportation to and from associated local attractions is currently not provided due to the quick accessibility of attractions from our Host Hotel and Atlanta's inexpensive MARTA transit system. Friday and Saturday nights, IGBO will provide continuous shuttles from hotels to major bar venue areas. See Nightlife section for more information. If an event is planned in advance with alot of interest, the host committee will coordinate and escort groups to their venues. These include but are not limited to the Atlanta Bar events and IGBO-group-hosted excursions .
